Omega installation and configuration information Article ID 535 Last Updated 05/08/2007 10:57 AM Question Where do I find information on installing, setting up and configuring Pharos Omega? Answer A small two-page document is included with the Omega components. This document contains warranty information on one side, and a short "Getting Started with Pharos Omega" guide on the other. The Getting Started guide provides an overview of the installation process, and addresses specific issues that commonly arise when installing Omega, e.g. how to find the Omega SmartHub's MAC address, how to train Omega to detect copier signals. Full installation and configuration information can be found in the document "Pharos Omega - Installation and Configuration". This document is included with Omega firmware releases, in the docs folder (the document's file name is PharosOmega.pdf). The Installation and Configuration manual is a detailed document that includes step-by-step instructions for setting up an Omega system, details on all configuration options and a description of the Omega SmartPAD user interface. A second manual called "Pharos Omega - Copy Adapter Design Guide" (OmegaCables.pdf) is also included with firmware releases. This is a technical document that gives information on how to construct a Copy Adapter cable to connect the Omega CopyLink component to the copier it controls. Firmware releases can be downloaded from http://www.pharos.com/Support/Terminals/Index.html Information on the configuration options available for Omega terminals in Pharos Administrator is also included in the Pharos Help (search for "Omega" in the Index or look in the Table of Contents under Integrating Pharos > Network Terminals). Note: Because Omega firmware updates are released more frequently than the Pharos Solution Suite, it is possible that the information in the Pharos Help may not be fully up-to-date. (The information on these properties in the Installation and Configuration manual will always be up-to-date.)
