Pharos Solution Suite 6.1 has arrived!! |

Rochester, New York – October
15, 2004 –Pharos Systems International today announced the release
of SignUp Vx3, the much-anticipated update of their popular computer
reservation and management program.
SignUp
software is designed to ease the burden of administering the use of
PCs that are available to multiple users. The program allows users’
access to PCs according to a set of site-selected parameters, while
unparalleled flexibility means these rules can be as simple or as
complex as a site may need. Interfaces to a variety of third-party
databases and systems allow SignUp to integrate tightly into a
customer environment and comprehensive reports ensure that usage
patterns can be monitored and asset-related decisions can be
fact-based. A web-based Nerve Center gives staff members a
real-time overview of the use status of all SignUp-controlled
computers and facilitates day-by-day management of the reservation
system.
SignUp Vx3
takes PC management to a new level by allowing more efficient
coexistence of several concurrent reservation types, block
reservations for groups, easy temporary visitor access, and
automatic shutdown at the end of the day - all wrapped in clean new
GUIs. It’s never been easier to balance easy and fair computer
access for individuals and classes in higher education labs,
or for librarians to step back from hands-on management of public
access computers to concentrate on the job they were trained to do.
“We’re pretty
excited about this new version of SignUp,” says architect David
Teviotdale. “The ability to make block bookings is something that
we’re regularly asked for, and we’ve added the ability to make a
block booking recurring. It’s a snap to organize group computer use,
for a one-time special event or for a regularly recurring class or
seminar.”
In addition, SignUp
Vx3 features support for both Deep Freeze Workstation Protection
software and Microsoft Cluster Servers, extending the security and
reliability for which Pharos products are known.
Paul Reddy, Pharos CTO, is thrilled with the release. "SignUp Vx3 is great! The feedback from our Beta sites has been awesome. The libraries where we have tested Vx3 love the high tech look and the new intuitive steps for setting up a reservation: it is so easy and self explanatory most users just walk up and use it - they don’t need any assistance at all.” *Text source cited from Pharos
